Hanna Werning is a graphic designer, trained at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. She spent three years as senior designer at Foundation 33 in London, serving such notable clients as Channel 4, Island Records, MTV and Serpentine Gallery.
Before London, Hanna worked at Swedish Television and Moonwalk in Stockholm. Upon returning to Sweden, Hanna opened her own design studio in Stockholm. She has designed textile patterns for Borås Cotton, Eastpak, Dagmar, Boxfresh and Stüssy. Her most famous creations so far are her AnimalFlowers wallpaper posters. In 2004, Hanna received the Elle Decoration International Design Award for ‘Wall Coverings and Wallpaper’.
“To me, a classic picnic is served on a red-and-white checked cloth; that’s why I chose those colours. But the checks gave way as the wild flora took over. Trumpeting plants, stately flamingos, Hawaiian seeds and waving seashore reeds. A sunny postcard from an imaginary island – Flamingo Isle.”
